Liam will celebrate his third birthday 8/01/10
How do we know? Well, we adopted Liam on 01/01/08 (for number people this might be intriguing, all the same numbers in different positions). Hmmm.
We were told he was about 5 months old. We counted back and decided 8/01/07 would be his birthday. And guess what, North Shore Animal League also decided that all adopted pets would have that same designated birthday since many are rescues and their date of birth a mystery.

So to give these wonderful animals their much deserved recognition, the Animal League has declared the first day of the eight month-August 1st-as DOGust the 1st, a universal birthday for shelter and rescued dogs everywhere.

Every dog will have his day. Please help us celebrate man's best friend!

Liam had wanted to celebrate with his adopted buddies see photo of DOGust 1st partybut this year we are booked the entire weekend. What could be more important than celebrating DOGust 1st at North Shore?

Is it Chelsea's wedding?
Many of you have asked if our commitment is to Chelsea's wedding, July 31. It is known that we frequently take mini trips to Rhinebeck and stay at the Beekman Arms and in fact are going up the week after. We have other commitments that supersede the Clinton wedding. I know Chelsea will miss us doing "the chicken dance."
I am sure that we will be regaled with many Clinton stories during our stay in August.

But back to the birthday boy. Liam misses his official 3rd birthday party. How do we make it up to him?
Liam will be taking two consecutive vacations at his favorite vacay resort Best In Show http://www.bestinshowpetresort.com/ Not one, but two vacations. Two separate chances for him to shine, learn and achieve. His report cards are always outstanding and we expect more of the same this time. He is a show off Leo who loves attention. Always mistaken for a puppy and he takes full advantage by licking folks, jumping on visitors and begging any and all for a tummy tickle
