A picture worth a thousand words?

A picture is worth a thousand words. Info about the quote and its origins

A photo tells its own story. At times a viewer of the photo will bring his/her own story to it.
Words can enhance and explain. In our blog I try to mix both.
Last Friday I got caught up in the truism of the quote. A cat was involved. Liam had been crazy barking. His crazy bark occurs when an outside animal walks by or stops near the house. It is guttural growling accompanied by leaps and spinning in circles. Think The Exorcist. A cat was parked in front of our house boldly eating out of a Ziploc bag. I decided a photo would tell the story. I started with a few shots. I pinched my phone screen, re-sized and oh no...you will see the problem. I kept trying. The screens are in the windows and show up as a grid. Sort of interesting but not a clear view of the cat.

I risked a quick snap from the opened front door. Liam joined me. I got one photo before he took off after the cat. Both racing across the street and both running through our neighbor's flowers. The chase was explosive and shocking and quick. And then over. Where was the cat?  I called. Liam returned empty pawed. Dispirited. He had his chase and lost his prey. Moseyed around our front lawn. Would not look at me. Relieved himself on every bush. I called his name repeatedly. He made no move to come back inside.
Suddenly, with a final glance at me, he hurdled through our rock garden skidded to the the sidewalk righted himself and galloped to the corner. Once there, he took off down the boulevard in a gait I can only describe as a spirited stroll.
Liam was taking himself on a walk to the park! Off leash! He obviously had a plan.
I ran
He stopped
I called
He continued
I stopped
He turned
We eyed each other
He came back.
Five minutes of terror. Mine. He appeared to have fun.
This is the picture
which resulted in almost a thousand words.

Woof, Woof
