No longer a Leo?

Liam, No longer a Leo?
A report came out last week from the Minnesota Planetarium Society that declared that the Zodiac signs would be altered.   Some Leos were no longer Leos and some Virgos were now Leos.   I mention those two signs because they were most vociferous in objecting to this announcement.

LEO

The Lion-King of the Jungle-Proud

LEOs often choose work that puts them in the spotlight.  They are warm of spirit, eager for action and magnanimous leaders.

Playful and loving Leo Liam

Their greatest strength is their playful and loving nature. Always the center of attention-a real ham of a big cat. There is so much more, but only Leos will continue reading about the passion, energy, creativity, brightness, initiative and action associated with this fire sign.

Why the change?
The Constellations have moved.  The moon's gravitational pull on earth has caused the alignment of the stars to be pushed by about a month.
The new Zodiac (if you choose to switch) is

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius:
Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces:
March 11-April 18.
Aries:
April 18-May 13.
Taurus:
May 13-June 21.
Gemini:
June 21-July 20.
Cancer:
July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo:
Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra:
Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus:
Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

But do not fear.  No one is changing.  At least no one I know.  The Western Astrology strictly adheres to the tropical Zodiac, which is fixed to the seasons.  The sidereal Zodiac, observed in the East, is the one affixed to the constellations and that is the one that would change.

Many of my closest friends and family are Virgos.  Liam and I are quite amused at their collective horror at being Leos.   Some August Virgos have had to endure having the green birthstone Peridot.  Now this.

And a final word from one of my favorite columnists, USA Today's, Craig Wilson  (who also mentions a Virgo friend) -link to read follows.  He poses the thought about what would be used as a new pickup line -"Bet you used to be a Scorpio...?"

Some comments from friends about this new Zodiac.

What!!! Leo stops on August 21st - I am a Virgo - although
my Venus is in Leo. And you are the epitome of a Leo.
Don't believe everything you read.
My astrology books go way back.
Even without Pluto - you are a Leo.

And, just as a leopard cannot change his spots,
a LEO cannot stop being a lion
...ABSURD!!  Off with their heads!

I am staying a Virgo, could never be a Leo.
