Puppy Bowl VIII, Dog Commercials and Bradying

WHERE ARE THE SNACKS?
What does a dog do on Super Bowl Sunday?  The blog's title kind of hints at some possibilities.  Activities include walking in the neighborhood, some Sunday morning window gazing as well as lazying on the couch.Time goes quickly and we are at 3PM- Puppy Bowl time. What is the Puppy Bowl?  Puppies playing football-see link.  http://animal.discovery.com/tv/puppy-bowl/
Liam is ready to play along, Kong toy at his feet, he looks for a receiver.  Anyone out there to catch a pass?  Liam licks his lips in anticipation of a touchdown or is it thoughts of treats?
THROW THE BALL OR HAVE A TREAT?
With no team though, he retires to the den to watch the action, joining our three parakeets, Kristin, Kaysar and Killian-see them to the left of the TV.
LIAM WATCHING PUPPY BOWL
A new addition to the show this year is Meep the bird, who is sending out Puppy Bowl updates on Twitter. Really. He has a Twitter account and pecks out tweets with his beak (I think)  and he receives tweets https://twitter.com/#!/meepthebird
Our birds do not have Twitter accounts (yet)
The game is exhausting, rule bending and adorable. A full two hours!  Fumble is declared the MVP.  See the following You Tube video for the dramatic announcement of the awarding of the title.

With the canine game done, Liam turns his attention to the kitchen.  Many Foodie sites offer recipes for doggie snacks.  Liam prefers ours. Conversely, the homemade doggie treats look pretty yummy to me.  Chef Paul is only doing human food.  Liam is not as well trained as Bo Obama (President Obama's pup) who obeys the sit/stay command and would never go near the Executive table.  Liam sniffs our nachos and he tries for one -at least one-there are so many.Need a Cesar Millan intervention. We fight him off with loaded water pistols. Nachos secured.
GAME ON
We are now at the start of the game. Super Bowl XLV1. Liam moves into the living room to watch.  BTW, that wine is mine.
Super Bowl commercials are famous.  This year groups were released before the game. We had a taste of what we would see. Several favorites feature dogs.  This pleases Liam.  The Doritos/dead cat is a little puzzling.  Very funny bribery pact between the man and dog. The performances are Oscar worthy. Still, a cat is missing. Not a stray. The cat lives with them. We see the dog burying the cat's tags.  Check it out.
The Giants win.  A game worthy of its hype and rewarded with a record breaking number of viewers.  MVP is Eli Manning, Giants Quarterback.   Disappointing to Tom Brady, Patriots QB.  A few blogs ago we talked of tebowing and Liam trying his own L bowing- see blog story for refresher

A new position entitled Bradying is competing with the tebow position.  Bradying is named for the image of Tom Brady sitting on the field after the Pats loss

LIAM TEBOWING
LIAM BRADYING
There is even a website where one can upload his/her own bradying positions http://bradying.com/

All in all, the Super Bowl Sunday was a fun-day for Liam and a fine day for NY.
I know, New Jersey,  Giants are yours also.
THAT WAS SOME SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
Liam put in a full day, using all venues of the house. He curled into a Super Bowl snooze.
Hope that G on that blanket is for Giants- hmmmm - looks like Georgia. Better get to Modell's for a Giants blanket.  There are some splashes of Giants blue in the pic, so we are counting that as a show of support.

Woof, Woof
